Felted toddler/child Crowns















Well, I created crowns for the kiddos for their 3rd birthday. I didn't have a pattern, just an idea in my head. I translated that into a pattern and here it is. Of course after i came up with the pattern i found a few that would have worked for me with some changes but i'm happy with mine.

Felted Toddler/Child Birthday Crown
To fit approximately 19” Head circumference (felt more or less to adjust size, or add or subtract rows per point)
2-3 oz Worsted Weight Wool Yarn (not super wash)
Size 10.5 knitting needles
J or K crochet hook
Waste yarn
Stitch marker
Gauge 35 rows in garter stitch (felted)= 4”
K f&b = Knit a stitch, leaving stitch on left needle; knit into the back loop of this stitch.
K2tog = Knit two stitches together as if they were a single stitch.
SSK = Slip one stitch as if to knit, slip the next stitch as if to purl, knit the two together through the back loops.
3 Needle Bind Off = With right sides facing each other, insert the tip of a third needle into the first stitch of one needle, then into the first stitch of the other needle. Knit two stitches together. (Again), *knit the first stitch from each needle together. Pass the previous stitch over this stitch. Repeat from *
Setup Rows
Using provisional cast on and waste yarn, CO 15 stitches.
Knit one row, place marker after 1st stitch (to mark the lower edge, non increase edge).
Point
*Knit across, K f&b in last stitch.
K f&b, knit across.*
Repeat until 30 stitches are on the needles.
*Knit to last two stitches, SSK.
k2tog, knit across.*
Repeat until 15 stitches remain.
Repeat the Point directions 4 times more (total of 5 points).
Remove Provisional Cast On and use 3 needle Bind off to join both ends.
Felt to desired size.
